ALMA will Insha Allah celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday 10 September 2010 at the Auburn Park (corner of Simpson
Street and Macquarie Road).
This decision is made following announcement by major Masjids around Sydney and the Board of Imams that the Eid-ul-Fitr would fall on 10 September 2010.
Takbir will start at 7.30 am and Eid salat will be at 8.00 am. Eid Khutba will follow Eid salat and would conclude at 8.30 am. Our customary Eid breakfast will be served after the khutba.
You will have an opportunity to pay your Zakat-ul-Fitr before the prayer and it is set at $10 per person.
We take this opportunity to wish all our members and friends Eid Mubarak and also make dua that all the good deeds in the holy month of Ramadan are accepted by Allah (SWT).
In the event of heavy rain in the early hours of Eid morning, prayers will not be conducted at the Auburn Park, so ALMA requests members and friends to make alternative arrangements to attend Eid prayers at local masjids.
We have received a number of enquiries asking who is eligible to receive Zakat, how to calculate and how much to pay and on what wealth is Zakat due etc. We have furnished below the English translation of the Qur'an sura 9 verse 60 that describes the eight categories of people who are eligible to receive Zakat with a brief explanation via examples.
