Eid-ul-Adha 2011 and ALMA Eid BBQ

Eid-ul-Adha is just around the corner. It is anticipated that Eid-ul-Adha would fall on Sunday 6 November or Monday 7 November 2011. We will notify the ALMA Eid prayer date when it is confirmed. As usual Eid prayers will be held at Auburn Park Insha Allah.

There are a number of significant acts of Ibadah that relate to Eid-ul-Adha. Fasting on the first nine days of Dhul Hijja and sacrificing a sheep (Qurbaan) on the day of Eid-ul-Adha are two highly recommended acts of Ibadah. Last year ALMA members and friends sponsored 27 Qurbaans, 23 of them were chanelled through Human Appeal International (HAI) charity organisation. ALMA organised a BBQ with 4 Qurbaans for its members and friends.

Insha Allah, ALMA will be facilitating the Qurbaan project this year as well. The cost per Qurbaan of a sheep for this year is not confirmed yet but it was $130.00 last year. Brothers and sisters are requested to experess your interest to sacrifice a sheep.

The ALMA Eid BBQ is scheduled for Saturday 12 November 2011 at the Auburn Community Picnic Area (near Auburn Botanic gardens) off Killeen Street Auburn. We are in the process of organising a "Jumping Castle" for kids to enjoy. The picnic area has been booked from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Sports for all age groups will be part of the event Insha Allah. More details will be posted soon.
