ALMA calls for AGM - 2010 on Saturday16th October
ALMA secretary Br. Azeem Nilar has given notice to the membership that Saturday 16 October will be the date for the next AGM Insha Allah. The venue for the occasion will be Dundas Community Centre, 21 Sturt Street Telopia.
As per the email notice, the hall opens at 5.00 pm and as part of the AGM event a children's program and Dinner is also organised. All children who wish to take part in the children's program are requested to register via email reply so that opportunities to participate could be efficiently managed.
The Dinner will be catered and therefore the secretary has asked for all participants to register as soon as possible in order to give enough notice to the caterers. Adult and High School students are required to pay $15.00 and primary school children are required to pay $10.00 each. Non-school going children get free entry.
A Nasheed group who was expected to perform at the last Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations but had to withdraw due to unavoidable circumstances, has indicated their interest to participate at the AGM event. ALMA will bring you more information including a detailed agenda regarding the AGM, the children's program and dinner in the next few days.
Members are reminded that AGM-2010 is an election year where the four main office bearers - President, Vice President, Secretary and Trasurer are elected. The AGM will also appoint the Auditor. Nominations have been called for the vacant positions where a new team is expected to take responsibility to manage the affairs of running ALMA. If you wish to get a copy the nomination form emailed to you, please contact us as soon as possible. To nominate a candidate, two members are required to give their details (and signature) and obtain the signature of the person being nominated.
ALMA will organise for members to pay their membership dues before the AGM to ensure all are financially current.
