High Commissioner H.E. Senaka Walgampaya completes his Australian tenure

The Sri Lankan Consul General in Sydney Hon. P.D. Fernando in an email message has informed ALMA and other Associations affiliated with the Consulate Office that His Excellency Senaka Walgampaya High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Australia for the last three years, will be relinquishing his duties at the end of November 2010 after completing his tour of duties.

ALMA members and friends will fondly remember Madam Dilrukshi Walgampaya and His Excellency's presence as the chief guests at the ALMA Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations in September 2009. Their friendly and easy going nature won them many admirers during their visit to Sydney where they also attended a few other functions while in Sydney. ALMA members and friends join me to extend our best wishes to them for their future endeavours.

As a gratitude for the services rendered by Mr. Walagampaya during his tenure in Australia, Sri Lankan Consul Office and Sri Lankan Community living in Sydney have planned a community dinner to bid farewell to him on 6th November 2010.

ALMA and other Sydney based Sri Lankan community organisations and well-wishers have been invited to make their representation at a meeting scheduled to be held on Wednesday 27th October, 2010 at the Consul General's office in Sydney at 6.00 p.m. to discuss the arrangements to organise this event.

Your thoughts and appreciations of Mr. and Mrs. Walgampaya's services to the Sri Lankan community in Australia by way of email messages are highly appreciated
