Eid Mubarak Eid-ul-Adha 2010 and Eid Picnic Day
ALMA will celebrate Eid-ul-Adha on Tuesday 16 November 2010 Insha Allah. We take this opportunity to wish all our members and friends a very happy Eid Mubarak. We also ask Dua that Allah (SWT) accept the Hajj of millions of muslims who have gathered in the holy city of Makkah for the holy pilgrimage.
ALMA organised Eid prayers will be held at the Auburn Park, corner of Macquarie Rd and Simpson St with Takbir beginning at 7.30 am. Eid salat will be at 8.00 am followed by Eid Khutbah concluding at 8.30 am.
Our customery Eid breakfast is also part of the agenda for the morning.
As you are well aware, sacrificing a sheep (or goat) by individuals or as a family is a highly recommended sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). ALMA is happy to facilitate this for you via Human Appeal International for $130 per sheep. Number of brothers and sisters have already joined the Qurban project. Please inform us as soon as possible whether you would join us in promoting this noble tradition.
We are also pleased to inform you that bulk of the meat will be distributed among the poor and needy around the world including Sri Lanka. As per the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) part of the meat is permitted for self consumption and for distribution among family and friends. In this spirit we will be using part of the meat to organise a BBQ on Saturday 20 November 2010 Insha Allah at the Community Picnic area (near Auburn Botanic Gardens), Killeen Street Auburn. A "Jumping Castle" for the kids to have some fun has been organised. The picnic area has been booked for ALMA members' exclusive use from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Several other fun activities are also planned for the day.
