ALMA to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday 10 September 2010

Eid Mubarak!

ALMA will Insha Allah celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday 10 September 2010 at the Auburn Park (corner of Simpson
Street and Macquarie Road).

This decision is made following announcement by major Masjids around Sydney and the Board of Imams that the Eid-ul-Fitr would fall on 10 September 2010.

Takbir will start at 7.30 am and Eid salat will be at 8.00 am. Eid Khutba will follow Eid salat and would conclude at 8.30 am. Our customary Eid breakfast will be served after the khutba.

Lailathul Qadr Night 2010 - event schedule

Dear Brothers and Sisters, Assalamu Alaikum

We are nearing the halfway mark in the month of Ramadhan for year 2010. As the beginning of the last ten nights of Ramadhan is just a few days away, it is time for us to focus and engage ourselves in acts of Ibadah that Allah (SWT) will reward abundantly. Lailathul Qadr Night without a doubt is at the top of the list when it comes to rewards that Allah (SWT) will bestow upon His servants who seek forgiveness and the blessings of this night.

Young Achievers Award and Ceremonial Opening of Sewing Class


ALMA is pleased to announce that the sewing classes for ladies has begun on Saturday 26 June 2010 at the Somerville Room, Auburn Council building. This is a project initiative sponsored by the Premier's department under "Community Building Partnerships" theme. The opening of the classes began with an address by ALMA president Br. Mohamed Fazli who gave details about the syllabus, teachers, administrators and their roles and course duration etc. Several executive committee members including vice president Br. Rizvi Fareed were present at the opening.

Hajj Farewell 2009

ALMA has organised to hold its fifth consecutive Hajj farewell ceremony to wish the pilgrims who will be undertaking the sacred journey to Mecca this year Insha Allah on Sunday 25 October 2009 at the Auburn Town Hall. The farewell ceremony will be part of the ACEP program and will commence at 6.30 pm.

The event will include an inspirational video presentation to encourage others to undertake this sacred journey. All ALMA members and friends are invited to attend this occasion which also serves as an ideal opportunity to exchange salams personally with the pilgrims before their departure.

Young People Celebrate Iftar at Greenacre

Young people of ALMA have been invited to attend weekly Iftar functions organised on Tuesdays by the Greenacre Area Neighbourhood Centre Inc. a community youth organisation operating in the Greenacre area. Although they have not defined "young" in their invitation flyer attached, you are required to make a booking for you to participate. Contact details are given in the flyer for bookings and enquiries. This project is funded by the Department of Community Services.

Eid-ul-Fitr Dinner function July 2016

ALMA had its annual Eid-ul-Fitr Dinner which also contained a segment of ACEP Ramadan competition prize giving as well. This function was attended by a sold-out record crowd of this nature ALMA ever had. It had several activities including trivia and kids games which kept all attendees fully engaged throughout the program.

 

 
Edul Fithr July 2016

Alhamdulillah, ALMA had a great Eid Celebration on 6 July 2016 at Turkish Mosque (Youth Centre) in Auburn. A large number of people attended for prayers and thereafter everyone exchanged salams and greetings with each other.

Ifthar function June 2016

On the invitation of the leader of the opposition (Parliament of NSW) and MP for Auburn, Hon Luke Foley, ALMA’s liaison officer Abdul Gafoor attended an Iftar function on 17th June 2016. Number of dignitaries including Grand Mufti of Australia, state and federal politicians, Islamic scholars, community leaders, leading school principals were among the invited guests.

 
Ramadan 2016

ALMA had its first (of the four) Ifthars this Ramadan on 11th June 2016 at Auburn Town Hall. Alhamdulillah, over 400 people were estimated to be present. An inspiring speech was delivered by Zac Matthews (Dr Zachariah Matthews) soon after Magrib prayers.

ALMA had the opportunity to launch the much awaited JANAZA fund and introduce the Janaza Subcommittee on that night. Alhamdulillah, over 75 family and individual members were signed up for this programme immediately. Members were also generous enough to contribute to the annual dry-rations project - the funds of which will be sent to Sri Lanka and distributed among poor and needy families in various parts of Sri Lanka next week Insha Allah.
